12/6/2017 0 Comments Final Post! Not sure if this is our Cohort or my family getting Dad back. It's been a long, but interesting journey. My Masters Program was split between this awesome group of individuals and a group of soon to be Administrators. I felt blessed to see both sides of the coin in both the positives and the negatives of each profession. I'm anxious to keep working on bettering my website, bettering it for the players in the future. The program have gotten me to open my mind in how learning can change based on the individual and develop into something totally different over time. Not needing to give into change if not necessary, but see if it could be a positive before shutting it down. Already, I see my patients with players on the field and off, helping them with class room issues, and finding solutions that I would have ignored in the past.

11/30/2017 0 Comments This journeyRecruiting from a College Coaching standpoint can test ones ability to judge talent along with ones morals. But from a players view, trying to get scene by a college is much more difficult. Not having the correct information to pass on to coaches could keep coaches from seeing a player that might actually be a good fit for their program. That’s were my template/website will help players find the correct fit for their future.
The difficultly from this journey has been researching websites that might have the same recruiting capability. There are no baseball recruiting sites that do what I want this template to do. So finding research has been very difficult. Building the site by scratch is what I had to do. Research has come from surveys or private conversation with college coaches about what is the most important thing that they would like to see on recruiting website. Also talking and reviewing player sites or emails having the wrong information has been key to this site. 11/21/2017 0 Comments Criticial friendHaving a critical friend gives you opportunity to reflect on your work, and to make it better. In sports, even at the highest level, athletes are being observed and analyzed and often it is done in a way that can be difficult to hear. With that background however, I value what my peers see and what they think I can do better. In this class I am grateful for having colleagues that are going through the same process, being the ones giving the feedback, because they are doing the same thing. Sometimes feedback comes from people that are far away from the process and in fact it's not valuable information. While it is given with the best of intentions, it is not as useful.

The audience for this LIL was teachers and administrators. It seemed the goal was to share the importance of technology in the classroom as well as how and why. The titles for the pages were useful and made it easy to find information. The home page did a good job of outlining the purpose of the information and it’s importance. The Learn More page did give resources that could be useful for teachers wanting to add technology or for administrators looking increasing technology. The inspiration page seemed to have the most information that supported the theme and the About the Author gave the reader some insight into who was gathering this information. I thought this was effective but not organized as clearly and concisely as that of Saslow. Gottfried: Teachers were the audience and administrators too. This LIL focused on blogging and how it motivates students and they find it rewarding with being able to share it and see how many people read their blog. Each of the pages included snapshots of other teachers or students using it as well as their excitement and success. It made the pages interesting and engaging. I thought it was very effective. Saslow: The audience for this LIL are science teachers looking to create units with the standards. Each page was very easy to read and well laid out. Anything of interest or to look further, had a place to click. It was nice to find concise well written information. I think each page was effective. The standards page didn’t have the standards but as the author said, it was redundant. I like that there wasn’t extra information or information doubled up just because of the page titles. I thought this was very effective. 9/28/2017 0 Comments Online Tools: Digital Resources

9/28/2017 0 Comments Audience! My capstone has change quite a bit over the last couple months. It seems as if each class doesn't totally change my direction, but verse me into a more focuses vision. I started off wanting to make a website that helped coaches recruit with confidence in what type of player they were getting. Reliable recruiting resources are very difficult to find. Some coaches use personal contacts to recruit, videos, emails, phone calls, and some use all of the above. My goal was to put it all into one resource on one site for coaches to go to. Now my site has changed into putting together the best player site possible. Keeping the idea behind making it extremely reliable for coaches to follow, along with an easy format for players and parents to build.
Coaches will benefit from the website because categories such as position, size, location, grade, G.P.A., etc. will be easy to narrow down to the type of player coaches are looking for. This will cut down on watching videos of players that have no chance of getting into school, or not making a team. Players will benefit do to the fact that fit is the most important part of finding a school. For example, if you are an Ivy league student that doesn't have a change to perform at the D1 level, you should be narrowing your search to a D2 or D3 that has comparable academics as an Ivy League school. And yes, those schools exist, so don't panic. The ultimate goal is to educate families and players and help them find that school that is going to be perfect for them. No Regrets! 8/27/2017 2 Comments Blog goals:The ultimate goal for my capstone is to create a website that is user friendly and informative. Guiding Players, Coaches, and Parents through the process in finding the right opportunity for playing baseball at the college level. This site will promote and showcase players talents. It will guide parents through the recruiting process. And it will also be used by College coaches to find the right players for their program. Ultimately, creating a great fit for all parties, and hopefully making the decision on where to go to play college baseball easier and less risky. Supporting case from my cohort will play a huge roll for this project. I think making sure that I keep the site as baseball elementary as possible is very important. Cohort 12 can help me with this, making sure that I don’t miss any steps along the way assuming someone might understand something they don’t.
8/27/2017 0 Comments Driving question:How can I create the best way to recruit for players, coaches and parents? I’ve for the most part been able to tweak my driving question, while keeping the same idea behind it. My driving question will benefit any player, parent or coach needing direction or guidance in promoting themselves to the college level.
8/27/2017 0 Comments Analyze:Athletics has always dominated most of my life. Playing sports gave me the outlet most people need to stay sane. Shortly after realizing that my playing days were numbered, the idea of coaching was presented. I was asked to coach baseball right away at the professional level, but I decided that coaching kids and having a family was my future. My wife Michelle and I have built a beautiful family in Napa with two children, Juliette and Jagger.
